Hasta este lunes, desde la oficina de The World’s Premier Mineral Exploration and Mining Convention se anunció que tres personas han dado positivo a COVID19.
El hecho puede ser preocupante pero, al mismo tiempo, puede ser un claro ejemplo de comunicación de crisis.
El evento, que reunió a la industria minera de todo el mundo en Toronto, también fue ejemplo de atención en el caso de la pandemia que azota al mundo.
La convención se realizó del 1 al 4 de marzo.
El 11 de marzo, los asistentes al Metro Toronto Convention Center recibieron un correo donde se advertía de la presencia de un paciente con COVID19.
Late yesterday it was learned that an attendee tested positive for COVID-19 after returning home to Sudbury, Ontario. We understand that all hospital protocols were followed for this case.

El día 12, los asistentes a la Convención recibieron un segundo correo.
En el asunto se leía: PDAC 2020 Convention Crosscut: COVID-19 update l.
It is confirmed that the individual associated with the PDAC 2020 Convention, from Sudbury, was not infectious at the conference
Through the investigation it has now been determined that the individual attended the Trade Show on March 1-3 including the Ontario Premier’s press conference held on the show floor on March 2 and the Student-Industry Networking Luncheon on March 3
El correo advertía:
It is recommended that people who attended PDAC 2020 watch for signs and symptoms as a precautionary measure. It is possible that the person in Sudbury acquired their infection at the event. Advice for self-monitoring can be found in the fact sheet located here.
The individual also attended three smaller evening events.
Algunos de los zacatecanos que asistieron a la convención se recluyeron inmediatamente luego de conocerse el documento.
Ellos aún no han terminado su catorcena de reclusión.
Y por lo menos uno no lo hizo.
Al contrario, acudió a su oficina a trabajar.
A menos, claro, que no haya recibido el correo… ese que recibieron todos los asistentes a la convención.
Son tres enfermos que se contagiaron en la convención, así lo informan desde allá.
