En el marco del aniversario CLXXXVI de la Fundación de la Biblioteca Pública, el Gobierno del Estado realiza el II Coloquio Internacional de Patrimonio Bibliográfico, donde destaca el beneficio cultural que ha aportado al pueblo de Zacatecas esta institución, a lo largo de su existencia.
Alfonso Vázquez Sosa, director general del Instituto Zacatecano de Cultura Ramón López Velarde, en representación del Gobernador Alejandro Tello, encabezó el inicio de las actividades, que se realizan del 3 al 5 del presente mes en las instalaciones de la Biblioteca de Colecciones Especiales Elías Amador.
En el II Coloquio tratarán las siguientes temáticas: traducción, hermenéutica, investigación, manuscritos, filología, impresos y catalogación. Incluirá nueve mesas de trabajo y dos conferencias magistrales.
La primera conferencia magistral estuvo a cargo de José Enciso Contreras, director de la Unidad de Investigaciones Histórico/Jurídicas del Poder Judicial del Estado de Zacatecas, bajo el nombre de: Libros, lectores y biblioteca pública en tiempos de Tata Pachito.
La Biblioteca de Colecciones Especiales fue fundada en 1832 como la primer Biblioteca Pública de Zacatecas, en el edificio actualmente conocido como El Palacio de la Mala Noche, con un acervo cercano a 3 mil 33 volúmenes que aportó el gobierno liberal de Francisco García Salinas.
Actualmente, conserva un fondo bibliográfico antiguo, considerado de gran importancia en el ámbito nacional e internacional para el estudio del período novohispano. Su custodia, conservación y administración corresponde al Gobierno del Estado, a través de la Coordinación Estatal de Bibliotecas Públicas.
Durante la inauguración del Coloquio estuvo presente el Presidente de la Real Asociación Española de Cronistas Oficiales, Antonio Luis Galiano Pérez; el Coordinador Estatal de Bibliotecas Públicas, Luis Hugo Núñez Bermúdez y Juan Carlos Ochoa Valenzuela, coordinador regional de Bibliotecas Públicas y Director de la Elías Amador.
