La Banda Sinfónica del Estado de Zacatecas cumplió todas las expectativas del público local y los turistas, quienes este jueves se dieron cita en punto del medio día en la Plaza de Armas para escuchar el tradicional concierto de gala de Semana Santa, que ofreció la agrupación conformada por talentosos músicos zacatecanos, dirigidos por Salvador García y Ortega.
El Gobernador Alejandro Tello, acompañado de la Presidenta Honorífica del DIF (Desarrollo Integral de la Familia) Estatal Zacatecas, Cristina Rodríguez de Tello, acudió a la magna presentación realizada en el escenario principal del Festival Cultural Zacatecas 2017, Migración sin fronteras, la experiencia artística desde la multiculturalidad.
La Banda Sinfónica fundada en el año de 1957, y que a la fecha es considera una de las más importantes del país en su género, abrió el concierto con la tradicional Marcha Zacatecas, compuesta por Genaro Codina; acto seguido, ofreció a los asistentes un recorrido musical por el país, a través de la ejecución de piezas icónicas de la cultura mexicana como Cielito Lindo, de Quirino Mendoza; Huapango, de José Pablo Moncayo, y el Cumbanchero.
Después en un giro musical, la soprano Sheila López interpretó Carmen, de George Bizet, así como otras dos melodías de María Grever.
Acompañada del coro del estado, la Banda Sinfónica tocó para el agrado de los asistentes un popurrí de los cantantes Juan Gabriel, Mijares y Emanuel.
En este concierto de Semana Santa, tal cual lo ha hecho en otras ocasiones, la Banda Sinfónica interpretó la Overtura Solemne 1812 de Tchaikovsky, acompañada de las campanas de la Catedral Basílica y los cañones de las Morismas de Bracho, acto que provocó el aplauso especial del público asistente, que abarrotó la Plaza de Armas con casi una hora de antelación.
Al término del concierto, Salvador García y sus músicos fueron aplaudidos de pie y con ello refrendaron su consolidación como una agrupación de calidad promotora de la cultura musical del país y Zacatecas.
La Banda Sinfónica de Zacatecas actualmente tiene su propia escuela de música, lo que la ha convertido en un semillero de talentos. Su actual director, Salvador García, tiene 58 años como integrante de la Banca y este 2017 cumplió 20 años de estar al frente como director artístico.
Hasta la fecha, la Banda ha grabado tres discos en formato L.P y ocho discos compactos; está integrada por 85 músicos de diversas edades.
