La tradicional Cabalgata Toma de Zacatecas que será llevada a cabo de el viernes 21 al domingo 23, rememora el trayecto de la División del Norte, comandados por Francisco Villa para vencer a los federales y despejar el camino a la Ciudad de México.

Durante el fin de semana de este evento se espera tener una ocupación hotelera del 81.5%, medio punto más que el año pasado durante el mismo lapso. Dicha ocupación se debe a cerca de 6 mil visitantes que se esperan, ya que en la cabalgata se esperan  mil 200 jinetes provenientes de 18 estados de la república,  Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, San Luis, Potosí, Durango, Tamaulipas, Chihuahua, Estado de México, Jalisco, Colima, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Veracruz, Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Nuevo León, Michoacán, Baja California y Zacatecas.

Además que ya se confirmó la participación de cabalgantes provenientes de 5 ciudades de la unión américana, Dallas, Huston, Las Vegas, Chicago y Los Ángeles.

Con los que se espera obtener una derrama económica superior a los 14 millones de pesos, durante este fin de semana.

Desde 2005 se lleva a cabo esta cabalgata y es un trayecto que tiene una duración de tres días en los que se observan los atractivos turísticos y las actividades socio económicas.

La cabalgata comenzará en Calera, donde llegaron las tropas en 18 trenes,  para comenzar el recorrido donde además se contará con un campamento, el sábado continuará en Morelos,donde Tomás Urbina dispuso un cuartel en el cuál se repasó el plan de Felipe Ángeles, donde también se contará con un campamento para quienes quieran pasar la noche ahí. El Domingo 23 la cabalgata pasará por el centro histórico para seguir por bracho y subir a la Bufa, para terminar con la tradicional comida en el domo de la feria.

Se extendió la invitación al público en general, en caso de estar interesados en participar, sólo deben comunicarse a la Secretaría de Turismo, a la extensión 610 y se buscará la manera de obtener un caballo.
